Description: The Gaithersburg Book Festival is an annual celebration of great books and great writing that is fast becoming one of the nation’s top literary events. More than 100 featured best-selling and award-winning authors – including Alice McDermott, Anthony Marra, Eric Jerome Dickey, Warren Brown, Miss Manners Judith Martin, James Swanson, Rachel Renee Russell, Tom Angleberger, Brian Floca, Raina Telgemeier and Tad Hills and more – will participate in panel discussions and book signings at the festival on May 17, 2014. Other activities include free interactive writing workshops, a Children’s Village, a hall of local exhibiting authors, announcement of short story contest winners, exhibitors with literary wares, on-site new book sales by Politics & Prose. Admission, parking and handicap-accessible shuttle buses from Shady Grove Metro and Lakeforest Mall are FREE. For information, visit www.gaithersburgbookfestival.org.
