Cave Canem Poetry Prize Reading: F. Douglas Brown

Event Type: Poetry Reading
Event Date and Time:
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Come celebrate the New York City launch of F. Douglas Brown’s 2013 Cave Canem Poetry Prize winning Zero to Three (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2014), lauded by competition judge Tracy K. Smith as “poems [that] lead us from the birth cry in a hospital delivery room, to dusk and revelry in Spain, to modern-day Florida and history-laden Mississippi where Trayvon Martin and Emmett Till were slain.” Brown is joined by Leon Baham and Donika Ross, Honorable Mention recipients for their manuscripts The Book of Imaginary Boys and American taxonomies, respectively. Reception and book signing follow. Free and open to the public.
