Two prizes of $1,000 each and an invitation to give an all-expenses-paid reading at the Devil’s Kitchen Fall Literary Festival at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois, are given annually for a book of poetry and a novel or a collection of short fiction or creative nonfiction published in the previous year. Publishers and writers may submit one copy of a book published in 2009, a cover letter, and a brief biography including publication history with a $15 entry fee by February 1.
