The Constance Saltonstall Foundation for the Arts awarded two- and four-week residencies from late April to mid-September to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers at the Constance Saltonstall Arts Colony, located on 200 rural acres seven miles from Ithaca, New York. Applicants who are residents of New York State and at least 21 years old were eligible. Writers are provided with a stipend ($250 for two-week residencies, $500 for four-week residencies), weekday meals, groceries, and a private living space, including a private bath. Writers submitted up to 15 pages of poetry or up to 30 pages of prose, a résumé, a writer's statement, and contact information for two references with a $25 application fee by January 2, 2014.
