THE CHATTAHOOCHEE Valley Writers’ Conference announces its 2009 writing competition and conference. Workshops in poetry, fiction, and nonfiction, September 24–26 at the Columbus Public Library in Columbus, GA. THE FIELD'S END Conference, Writing in the Garden of the Gods, will be held on April 18, at Kiana Lodge on the shores of Agate Passage in Poulsbo, Washington. The conference includes workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as interactive sessions and a book signing. Participating writers include poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers. Featured speakers include novelist Jim Lynch and Grammar Girl creator Mignon Fogarty.
