The 24th annual Chicago Humanities Festival will be held on October 13 and October 20, and from November 1 to November 10 at venues throughout Chicago and Evanston, Illinois. The theme for the 2013 festival is “Animal: What Makes Us Human.” Participants include poet Anne Carson, fiction writers Junot Díaz and Justin Torres, and creative nonfiction writers Katherine Boo and Susan Orlean. Tickets to most events range from $5 to $20; many events are free for students and teachers. Visit the website for more information.
