Centrum Port Townsend Writers’ Conference was held from July 10 to July 20 at Fort Worden State Park, a turn-of-the-century army base accessible to saltwater beaches, wooded hills, and the Olympic and Cascade Mountains. The conference offered workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as craft lectures, readings, open mikes, and time to write. The faculty included poets Kim Addonizio, Erin Belieu, Mark Bibbins, Dana Levin, and Gary Copeland Lilley; fiction writers Dan Chaon, Sam Ligon, and Robert Lopez; and creative nonfiction writers Emily Rapp and Diane Roberts. Individual residencies at Centrum during the conference, which did not include workshops but offered access to some conference events, were also available. Conference tuition ranged from $50 for afternoon workshops to $700 for weeklong workshops and $900 for 10-day workshops. Lodging and meal options ranged from $250 to $950. Financial aid and scholarships were available. Registration was first come, first served. Visit the website for more information.
