Centrum Port Townsend Writers’ Conference will be held from July 9 to July 19 at Fort Worden State Park, a turn-of-the-century army base accessible to saltwater beaches, wooded hills, and the Olympic Mountains in Washington. The conference offers workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as craft lectures, readings, open mics, and time to write. The faculty includes poets Kim Addonizio, Erin Belieu, Gary Copeland Lilley, Jimmy Kimbrell, and Joseph Stroud; fiction writers Claire Davis, Skip Horack, and Pam Houston; and creative nonfiction writers Lisa Norris and Luis Urrea. Individual residencies at Centrum during the conference, which do not include workshops but offer access to some conference events, are also available. Conference tuition ranges from $150 for afternoon workshops to $900 for 10-day workshops. Lodging and meal options range from $250 to $950. Financial aid and scholarships are available. Registration is first come, first served. Visit the website for more information.
