An active-duty Air Force officer, he served in Iraq and Afghanistan, was an assistant professor in the English Department at the U.S. Air Force Academy, and currently lives in Northern California. He serves as Art Director and Nonfiction Editor of War, Literature & the Arts: An International Journal of the Humanities.
