The 2015 Bear River Writers’ Conference, sponsored by the University of Michigan, will be held from May 28 to June 1 at Camp Michigania on Walloon Lake, near Petoskey, Michigan. The conference offers workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as readings, discussions, nature walks, and time to write. The faculty includes poets Stephen Dunn, Laura Kasischke, Jamaal May, and Richard Tillinghast; fiction writers Nami Mun, Antonya Nelson, and Thisbe Nissen; and creative nonfiction writers Jerry Dennis, Thomas Lynch, and Sue William Silverman. Tuition, including all meals, is $625, and housing ranges from $90 to $250 for the week. A $100 deposit is required to secure enrollment; the balance is due by May 1. Scholarships are available.
