The 2015 Bear River Writers’ Conference, sponsored by the University of Michigan, was held from May 28 to June 1 at Camp Michigania on Walloon Lake, near Petoskey, Michigan. The conference offered workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as readings, discussions, nature walks, and time to write. The faculty included poets Stephen Dunn, Laura Kasischke, Jamaal May, and Richard Tillinghast; fiction writers Nami Mun, Antonya Nelson, and Thisbe Nissen; and creative nonfiction writers Jerry Dennis, Thomas Lynch, and Sue William Silverman. Tuition, which included all meals, was $625, and housing ranged from $90 to $250 for the week. A $100 deposit was required to secure enrollment; the balance was due by May 1.
