Author's Bio

Barbara Rockman is author of "Sting and Nest," winner of the New Mexico-Arizona Book Award and the National Federation of Press Women Book Prize. Her second collection, "to cleave," is published, 2019, by University of New Mexico Press. She teaches poetry and generative writing workshops in Santa Fe, NM at Santa Fe Community College, in community workshops, and at Esperanza Shelter for Battered Families, and with OutsideInArts with people living with mental illness. A graduate of the Vermont College of Fine Arts MFA in Writing Program, her Pushcart and Best of the Net nominated poems appear widely in journals and anthologies including Nimrod, Louisville Review, Cimarron, Thrush, Southern Humanities Review, Bellingham Review and Taos Journal of Art and Literature.

A frequent contributor to art and image installations, Barbara is currently working with Barcelona artist, Cynthia Fusillo. Barbara has recieved residency fellowships to Playa Residency Program and has been chosen for three residencies at Atlantic Center for the Arts.

Raised in western Massachusetts, Barbara lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
