A quarterly, American Short Fiction (ASF) strives to discover and publish new fiction in which transformations of language, narrative, and character occur swiftly, deftly, and unexpectedly. We are drawn to evocative language, unique subject matter, and an overall sense of immediacy.
Tips From the Editor
Any issue of ASF will give writers a good sense of the type of fiction we publish. If our selections are not your cup of tea, we probably aren't a good fit for you.
