ADVANCING THE POEM: FINDING YOUR AUTHENTIC VOICE

Description: Instructor: Peter E. Murphy: Ends on August 2. Using contemporary poetry as a model, participants will trigger their imaginations to compose original poems that are meaningful and true. Peter's quirky prompts will help participants write more freely as they discover their distinctive voices. Supportive workshop sessions will stress revision techniques that will improve the sound and sense of these new poems. Peter will offer information and advice on where and how to submit work for publication. Teachers will return to their classrooms armed with strategies for improving their students’ writing proficiency.
