I am a New York City-based poet. Alphabets of Elsewhere (Cinnamon Press, 2007) is my first collection, and I am also a fiction writer (NEA fellowship winner with short stories published in Alaska Quarterly Review, Quarterly West, Northwest Review, Other Voices and many other magazines). I translate poetry from the French (translations in Circumference, Parthenon West Review, Silk Road, Cipher, Percutio and Drunken Boat). I am interested in the intersection of the visual arts and written word, as well as music and poetics. An experienced teacher, I am always happy to give readings, join workshops both public and private and visit schools and conferences to aid the cause of creative writing.
