Sara Baker is a novelist, short story writer and dramatist. Her works have been published in The New Quarterly, The Chattahoochee Review, The Spirit that Moves Us, The Lullwater Review, Ars Medica, The Yale Journal for Humanities in Medicine, The Healing Muse, The Journal for Poetry Therapy, and other publications. Her adaptation of Willa Cather’s “A Wagner Matinee,” was produced by The Public Media Foundation and broadcast on NPR and BBC radio. She has written three books, Shadow Dance, a novel, The Time-Keeper's Son, a novel, and No Part of the Body is Not Sacred, a collection of short fiction.An early version of Shadow Dance (Second Son) was one of eight finalists in the 1996 Hemingway Days First Novel Contest. The judges’ comments read as follows: "Second Son shows great promise. Your descriptions are vivid, compelling and wrenching. You have a clear, clean writing style that makes this novel a wonderful read."
