The final judge for the 2009 Short Story Fiction Prize is award-winning author Bret Lott. The submission deadline is October 15, 2008; submission fee is $15. $300 will be awarded to the winner and $150 to the runner-up. You may submit one short story per entry and it must be 5000 words or less. There is no entry limit. Please remove name and contact info from the document. All submissions will be read by a blind panel of readers. The winner will be featured in the 2009 Spring Issue of RUMINATE. Each entrant will receive a free copy of the Spring 2009 Issue and all work submitted will also be considered as part of our general submissions for the Spring 2009 Issue. Submission is a two step process: You must first pay the submission fee by selecting the "Pay Now" button below. A new window will open at the Paypal website where you can either pay by credit card (you do not need a Paypal account for this option), or with your Paypal account if you have one.

*You may also pay by mail. Upload your work using the above submission form and then mail a check made payable to RUMINATE MAGAZINE, attention Short Story Prize at 140 N. Roosevelt Ave., Fort Collins, CO 80521. Along with your entry fee, please let us know the title of the piece you have submitted and make sure your entry fee is postmarked by October 15th, 2008. |
